Dear Brother Scouts,
The idea for a new scout den for 10th Kuala Lumpur Air Scouts Group was mooted some time in 2004. The principle then, Ms Moey Yoke Lai was very heartened to learn that old scouts of the group are taking up this challenge and gave full support. The owners of the land, the Wesley Church has been most cooperative. We are very grateful for their encouragement and assistance.
The procrastinators we are, has taken us this long to have the plans drawn up, submitted to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. DBKL wanted to make some changes and finally in February 2006, the plans were approved.
The perspective above is drawn by brother scout Yap Hock Seong and so are the actual plans submitted to DBKL. Hock Seong has never mentioned any fees and does not expect to issue a bill for the work done.
Sealed tenders for the construction were opened by the building committee on 3rd March 2006 and the lowest bid of just below RM143,000 was accepted. The contractor Zimara Sdn Bhd is known to us and has promised very flexible terms of payment.
